FARLEY signs deal with The Brilliantly Creative Company
December 24th, 2012

The Pennsylvania based indie-rock act FARLEY has recently signed a licensing/artist relations deal with The Brilliantly Creative Company.

Based in Raleigh NC, The Brilliantly Creative Company was founded by Matt Sells (principal) and Jason Mott (producer/engineer). While living and playing hundreds of shows in Los Angeles, Matt Sells founded a record label and three publishing companies. After 7 years and 300+ artists, the record label and publishing companies where sold to a music industry company in Las Vegas, Nevada and Matt set his sights on his next big thing. Matt teamed up with long time friend, producer and engineer Jason Mott to create the new licensing/artist relations company The Brilliantly Creative Company.

Jason Mott has worked on records for artists like Metallica, Beck, Faith Hill, Sean Lennon and many more Multi-Platinum artists and underground artists as well. With two live recording studios in Los Angeles and Nashville, Matt and Jason plan to sign 12 new artists for 2013. In addition to Music Licensing and Artist Relations, The Brilliantly Creative Company offers Music Production, Music Consulting, Graphic Design, Web Design, and SEO.
“The truth is we have a large amount of knowledge in the music industry. From the production side, inner workings of the business and even marketing and retail, we have done it all,” says Sells.

Having heard FARLEY’s single “Hindsight” through Music Xray, Sells decided right away that FARLEY would be an excellent fit for his new start-up artist relations company. “I am being very picky”, says Sells of his search for new talent for 2013. “As soon as I heard the song Hindsight I knew it had major placement potential.” Sells contacted Tim Farley immediately and they signed the deal in a matter of days.

“We are very excited to be working with The Brilliantly Creative Company and are looking forward to taking this band to the next level”, says Farley. The band FARLEY consists of four all-star musicians from the North East PA music scene. They released their debut EP “A Good Problem to Have” in July, 2011 and quickly gained notoriety. FARLEY’s first EP has captured the attention of audiences from coast to coast and over-seas as well. They recently finished a tour in Ireland, have released multiple live albums, and are in the studio finishing work on their sophomore effort “Squaring Circles”, due out in early 2013.

“Matt and Jason have decades of experience in this industry and teaming up with them is sure to open some doors for us. Our future has never looked so bright”, says Farley.

Northeastern Pennsylvania will export some musical talent to Ireland in July, when area bands Underground Saints and Farley will perform several shows on the Emerald Isle, including sets at a week-long festival that draws more than 200,000 people annually.

Both groups have been invited to perform at the Ballina Salmon Festival and will also play several club dates during their visit.
The Ballina Salmon Festival will be held from July 8-15 in the County Mayo town of Ballina, which is Scranton’s sister city. Underground Saints and Farley guitarist Pat Flynn has previously visited relatives in Ballina and mailed CDs of both bands to his cousin Margaret Popplewell, who introduced the music to Irish radio programmers. The response has been extremely positive, with songs being played in regular rotation on the Irish station Midwest Radio for the past few months.

“It’s truly a dream come true as a musician to play in Ireland and even more so in the Ballina area considering my families direct ancestral ties to this particularly beautiful area of the country,” Flynn said of the opportunity to perform in Ireland. “I ultimately want this trip to not only strengthen the bond between Scranton and Ballina as sister cities but also the bond with the entire Wyoming Valley as well and want to continue this exchange of outstanding talent between both Ireland and our area in the future. It is a great story and journey bridging some echoes of the past with our own music and will be honestly and vividly portrayed in the upcoming film and soundtrack.”

Filmmaker Mark Dennebaum and crew of Scranton-based TwentyFiveEight Productions will also make the trip and capture the experience for an upcoming documentary film which he hopes to screen on the film festival circuit. Flynn added that Underground Saints and Farley plan to add two new songs to the project.
